We are proud Orthodox Christians. We have concerns.
Help us build our efforts to further our cause!
Please feel free to submit your ideas to help us improve our endeavors toward furthering our mission.
If you do nothing, nothing will happen. Please write to the Archbishop and the Patriarch. Thank you.
We can be more effective in getting the attention of our Metropolitans, Archbishop, and Patriarch regarding what is going on at the parish level.
First, please consider letting any of us know if you can volunteer or contribute anything (NOT money) to help our efforts. you can comment here, or email us at Admin@WeAreOrthodox.com. We will consider proposals, but reserve the right to not to act on them if we so choose.
Second, we aim to raise the awareness of our fellow brothers and sisters! My suggestion is do not go to the Ephraimite monasteries for Confession; unless you do not mind being asked explicit details about your sexual history, and if you do not mind incredibly harsh penances. If that’s the case, then go. People confuse this kind of activity as “raising the standard” or “challenging you to grow more”. I believe in doing that, but I do not believe sexual voyeurism and insensitive dictatorial confessors are the way to go. I prefer to live in the realm of reason and compassion. We have the right to select any canonical priest for confession that we feel close to. Hopefully this will evolve into a healthy spiritual father relationship.
Third, document and write. Do not think that mailing to any Metropolis is enough. It is not. Please indicate that you are also sending your correspondence to the Archbishop and to the Patriarch.
Write to your Metropolitan but send copies to the Archbishop in New York, and our Patriarch.
